- Apple retained the same pricing of iPhone SE in India
- Apple has cut the starting price of iPhone SE by $50 in the US
- iPhone X and iPhone 8 models were launched on Tuesday
As it usually happens with new iPhone launches, the prices of the old iPhone models have been slashed by Apple in the US following the launch of iPhone X and iPhone 8 models. In India as well, the company has now slashed the prices of iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, and iPhone 7 Plus. Considering that the upcoming iPhone models will still take some time to arrive on shelves and will still be relatively expensive, the affordable models might not be a bad option for purchase.
Starting with the iPhone 6s, the 32GB and 128GB storage variants of the smartphone were earlier available for Rs. 46,900 and Rs. 55,900 in India but are now being offered at Rs. 40,000 and Rs. 49,000 respectively. If we talk about the larger iPhone 6s Plus, the 32GB and 128GB storage variants of the handset were earlier available for purchase in India at a price of Rs. 56,100 and Rs. 65,000 but will now be available at Rs. 49,000 and Rs. 58,000 respectively.
Moving to last year’s iPhone 7, the 32GB storage variant of the smartphone was earlier available for Rs. 56,200 and the 128GB variant was offered by the company at Rs. 65,200. After the price cut, the former model is available for purchase at Rs. 49,000, while the latter can be purchased at Rs. 58,000, as seen on the company’s India website.
On the other hand, the 32GB variant of the iPhone 7 Plus, which was earlier available for Rs. 67,300 is now available for Rs. 59,000. The 128GB variant of the smartphone, which was earlier priced at Rs. 76,200 is now available at a price of Rs. 68,000.
Coming to the price cuts in the company’s home country US, post the launch of iPhone X and new iPhone 8 models, Apple has slashed the starting price of iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, and the iPhone 7 Plus by $100 (roughly Rs. 6,400). The US pricing of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus now starts from $549 (roughly Rs. 35,100) and $669 (roughly Rs. 42,800). On the other hand, the pricing for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus starts from $449 (roughly Rs. 28,750) and $549 respectively.
Further, Apple has slashed the starting price of iPhone SE in the US by $50 (roughly Rs. 3,200) to $349 (roughly Rs. 22,300). Interestingly, in India, the company has decided to retain the pricing of the 32GB and 128GB storage variants of the smartphone at Rs. 26,000 and Rs. 35,000 respectively.
Considering that the iPhone X will be made available in India with a starting price of Rs. 89,000, it might not be a bad idea to look at some of the earlier generation models that offer good features at affordable prices post the price cut.
