Armed Robbers Target Retired Officer’s Home in Guwahati, Steal Valuables

In the early hours of Saturday, a daring robbery took place in Guwahati’s Hatigaon area, where a group of four armed robbers broke into the residence of a retired officer from the Industries and Commerce Department.

The incident occurred on Sewali Path, under the jurisdiction of Hatigaon Police Station, at the home of Atul Chandra Bora. The robbers, armed with sharp weapons, threatened Bora and his female domestic help, who were present at the time.

The thieves made off with a significant amount of cash, gold jewelry, and two mobile phones. The robbery has left residents of this densely populated neighborhood on edge, raising concerns about the safety and security of the area.

In response, neighbors have demanded increased security measures. Meanwhile, the police are actively investigating the case, though the culprits remain at large.
