The Defence Research Laboratory (DRL), DRDO Tezpur, held a training session at Missamari Military Station on September 13, 2024.The training focused on the “Iron Removal Unit (IRU) & DRDO Water Testing Kit” and was aimed to sensitize the Army personnel stationed at remote areas of Sonitpur district.
The training session was a deep dive into the practical aspects of water purification. DRL scientists delivered a thorough overview of the IRU’s installation, operation, and maintenance. The session included comprehensive training on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of IRU and hands-on demonstrations of DRDO Water Testing Kit. This kit is capable of detecting 11 critical parameters, including hazardous contaminants such as iron, arsenic, fluoride, and bacteria, which are invisible to the naked eye but pose significant health risks.
A large number of army personnel from more than 15 units attended the session.
