Swachhata Hi Seva 2025: Railways Highlights Cleanliness Through Street Plays

The Railway Board’s cultural troupe took centre stage under the Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan 2025 at the Vichar Sabha Hall, Rail Bhavan, on 22 September 2025, performing a cleanliness awareness cultural programme to engage and educate employees on healthy hygiene habits.
The event was graced by Railway Board Chairman and CEO Satish Kumar, Member (Finance) Usha Venugopal, Member (Infrastructure) Naveen Gulati, Director General (RPF) Ms Sonali Mishra, Director General (Human Resources) R. Rajgopal, Director General (Safety) Shri Hari Shankar Verma, and Secretary, Railway Board Ms. Aruna Nayak, along with a large number of railway employees.
In his address, Shri Satish Kumar emphasized the significance of cleanliness, recalling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to every citizen to dedicate 100 hours annually, and two hours every week, to shramdaan (voluntary service) for cleanliness. He urged everyone to pledge to remain conscious about hygiene and contribute to keeping their villages, towns, railway stations, and the nation clean.


The programme began with a Saraswati Vandana presented by Apoorva Pratibha and Pankaj Vishal, followed by a group song on the theme of ‘Swachhata Mission’ by the cultural troupe. A street play was also performed, vividly showcasing the need for cleanliness and its benefits.
On this occasion, T. P. Chawla, Shri Harsh Singh, Divya Khurana, and Pankaj Vishal recited their self-composed poems on cleanliness, leaving a deep impact on the audience.
The event was coordinated by Joint Secretary, Railway Board, Shri T. Srinivas, while the stage was compered by Ms. Preeti Maan.
