IGI Airport Police arrested one fraudster agent

Vigilant efforts of the IGI Airport team have yielded significant results with the apprehension of one up-based agent.

involved in a syndicate which arranged two passports for the journey of the pax & his wife to canada which were issued in the name of others.

Pax arrived at IGI Airport.

Intended to travel to Canada.

Caught during scrutiny of his travel documents.

Three agents were arrested earlier in the case.

Continuing crackdown on fraudulent agent, staff of PS IGI Airport arrested one fraudster agent namely Kirandeep Singh @ Sonu Bajwa S/o Balvinder Singh R/o Village-Abhaypur Madhopura, Tehsil-Pooranpur, District-Pilibhit, UP, Age 27 years in Case FIR No. 414/24 dated: 19.06.24 U/s 419/420/468/471 IPC, PS IGIAirport, Delhi. He was involved in a syndicate that had arranged someone else’s passports for the journey of the pax and his wife & also gave makeover to the pax (age 24 yrs) to an old man (age 67 yrs) for matching the passport credentials.

Brief Facts & Incident Details:-

The facts of the case are that on 18-06-24, one pax holding an Indian passport No. N0438851 issued in the name of Rashvinder Singh age 67 years approached Departure Immigration at IGI Airport intending to depart to Canada. During scrutiny of his travel documents, his voice did not match with his age and his beard & skin also seemed to be quite young as there were hardly any wrinkles on his face. On further questioning, the pax revealed his identity as Gurusewak Singh S/o Gur Mehar Singh R/o 288/49, Gurudwara Arya Nagar, Moti Nagar, Lucknow, UP age 24 years and one pic of passport No V4770942 issued in his name was also found in his mobile phone. As the pax cheated Indian Immigration by traveling on someone else’s passport, a Case FIR No. 414/24 dated: 19.06.24 U/s 419/420/468/471 IPC, PS IGIAirport, Delhi was registered accordingly and investigation of the case was taken up.

Team & Investigation:-

During course of investigation of the case, pax Gurusewak Singh was arrested. On interrogation, he disclosed that he along with his wife wanted to go to USA for his better livelihood and he came in touch with one agent namely Jagjeet Singh @ Jaggi through one of his friend. Agent Jagjeet Singh @ Jaggi promised to send him and his wife to USA via Canada illegally on someone else’s passports, in lieu of Rs 60 lakhs. The pax further disclosed that he gave Rs 30 lakhs to the agent Jaggi and it was decided that rest of the amount would be paid after reaching the destination point. As per deal, the agent Jaggi along with the help of his associates, arranged passport No. N0438851 of one Rashvinder Singh for him and passport no U1114748 of one Harjeet Kaur for his wife for their journey to Canada. On the directions of agent Jaggi, one of his associate took him to a saloon in Delhi area to get the look of an old man as the age of the passport holder Rashvinder Singh was of 67 years. One of the saloon boy gave make-up to him of an old person to look similar to the passport picture. It was also revealed by the pax that the agent Jaggi along with the help of his associates, also arranged tickets for Canada for their journey but he was caught by the Airport staff on suspicion and after that, his wife ran away from there. The wife of the pax namely Archana Kaur was also nabbed near the Airport as she also tried to travel on someone else’s passport.
During course of further investigation, agents namely Jagjeet Singh @ Jaggi S/o Kuldeep Singh R/o Village-Katpura, Pilibhit, UP Age 32 years, Gurmukh Singh S/o Balvinder Singh R/o F-2, Metropolis City, Rudrapur, Uttarakhand Age 24 years & Parmbir Singh S/o Gurcharn Singh R/o Village-Bhairon Khurd, Distt-Pilibhit, UP Age 35 years were nabbed from their hideouts and arrested in the case.
On sustained interrogation of the accused persons, the name of one associate namely Sonu Bajwa was surfaced who was found actively involved in this case and helped in arranging air tickets for the pax. Several raids were conducted at the possible hideouts of him but he could not be traced despite best efforts.
Based on an input, a dedicated team led by Inspr. Sushil Goyal/SHO/PS IGI Airport, comprising Insp Kedar and Ct. Deepak Singh was constituted under the close supervision of ACP/IGI Airport and the overall supervision of the undersigned. The team was briefed properly and tasked to nab the absconding culprit at the earliest.

On the basis of local intelligence, the fraudster agent namely Kirandeep Singh @ Sonu Bajwa S/o Balvinder Singh R/o Village-Abhaypur Madhopura, Tehsil-Pooranpur, District-Pilibhit, UP, Age 27 years was nabbed from Delhi and arrested in the case.
On sustained interrogation, accused Kirandeep Singh @ Sonu Bajwa confessed his guilt and disclosed that he had studied up to 12th class and worked as an agent which deals in ticket booking and visa filiing on a commission basis. During his work, he came in contact with one agent Jagjeet Singh @ Jaggi who used to dupe people on the pretext of sending them abroad and runs his office in the name of “True Talk Imagination” at Bijnour, UP. Thereafter, he started working with him on a commission basis. The accused further disclosed his involvement in the case and revealed that with the help of the his associates Jagjeet Singh @ Jaggi, Gurumukh Singh & Parmbir Singh, they arranged two passports (issued in someone else’s name) for the journey of the pax and his wife to USA via Canada. He further revealed that he along with his associates started cheating people in order to earn quick money.
Investigation of the case is in progress to unearth the involvement of other agents and to scrutinize bank accounts of the accused and to trace his possible involvement in other similar complaints/cases also.

All passengers/travelers are requested to approach authorized agencies to procure their documentation for going abroad and do not fall in the trap of fraudulent agents who offer the journey abroad at cheaper rates.
