Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj inaugurated the Delhi Pavilion at India International Trade Fair

Hon’ble Minister Industries Govt. of NCT Delhi Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj inaugurated the Delhi Pavilion at the 42nd edition of the India International Trade Fair (IITF’23) at Pragati Maidan today at 4.30 PM. Prior to inauguration of Delhi Pavilion, Shri Bharadwaj shared the dias with Ms. Anupriya Patel, Hon’ble MoS (C&I, GoI) during inauguration of IITF-23 in Conference Hall No. 2, Bharat Mandapam.  During the inauguration of Delhi Pavilion, the Hon’ble Minister Industries was welcomed by a beautiful welcome song by the teachers of Education Department and dance program performed by the young children. While addressing the Media, he informed that this year ITPO organises IITF at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from November 14-27, November 2023 on the theme of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – United by Trade”.  GNCTD is participating IITF 2023 as one of the Focus States and set up Delhi Pavilion on the heritage theme of Connaught Place.  Delhi Pavilion observed the first day of IITF 2023 with cultural event, musical performances, interactive financial literacy session, dances etc.

Hon’ble Minister appreciated the design and heritage theme of the pavilion which includes a depiction of ‘Connaught Place Delhi’ and a 3D structure of ‘Akshardham Temple’. He visited the pavilion which is dedicated to the departments of Delhi which is having thematic area on ‘Invest Delhi’ theme, EODB, Ease of Living, Clean Delhi Green Delhi. He gave thrust and importance on the three corridors designed in the Delhi Pavilion viz. ‘Tourism Corridor’ (having cut-outs of historical monuments of Delhi, Medical Tourism and Education Tourism), ‘Cultural Corridor’ (dedicated to Yoga, Festivals and Dance forms of Delhi), and ‘Industrial Corridor’ (dedicated to start-ups, entrepreneurs and MSMEs) and told that the State Govt. dedicated to promote tourism, cultural activities, and encourage start-up, and knowledge based MSMEs.

While Giving review about the Delhi Pavilion, Hon’ble Minister (I) has quoted in the visitor book as ‘IT REMINDS ME OF CHILDHOOD MEMORIES OF CONNAUGHT PLACE AND TRADE FAIR. VERY WELL ORGANISED’.

Shri Manish Gupta, ACS (Industries); Shri Sanjiv Mittal, MD, DSIIDC (Director), Monika Priyadarshini, ED(DSIIDC), Shri Shobhit Gupta, Chief Manager & Director Delhi Pavilion alongwith officers of various departments of GNCTD and Dignitaries attended the inauguration of the Pavilion.  He informed that In line with the vision of ‘AAP KI SARKAR, AAP KE DWAR’ with Door-step Delivery number 1076, various departments are providing ‘on the spot services’ in the pavilion:

  • Transport Department You can get ‘on the spot’ driving license and registration facilities here. The department is also promoting environment friendly electric vehicles by showing electric auto rickshaw & electric charging s station and showing faceless services being provided by the department.
  • Health Department – You can get ‘on the spot medical and 95 testing facilities’ at live Mohalla Clinic and free consultation with the doctors.
  • Education Department – Delhi Education Model, Happiness Curriculum are shown here.
  • Delhi Jal Board – The replicas and campaigns of City of Lakes, Yamuna Action Plan-III, Rain Water Harvesting, Say No to Manual Scavenging, Sonia Vihar Model of WTP etc.  are depicted here.
  • Industries Department and DSIIDC- The policies and future plan of actions like Start Up Policy, Single Window System, EODB, Ease of Living, Rozgaar Budget, Delhi Bazaar, Delhi Job Capital, PMFME Scheme etc. are shown here.  Model of ‘Technology Park Ranikhera’ being developed by DSIIDC is also shown here.
  • Tourism Department – To make tourism a pleasant experience in Delhi; City Heritage walk, Tourist spots of Delhi with a QR code on the screen, Delhi Film Policy, Dekho Meri Delhi App etc. are shown here.
  • Delhi Prison (Tihar Jail) Paintings and bakery products made by inmates and reforms being undertaken by Tihar Jail are displayed here.
  • Bharti Delhi Emporium: You can buy beautiful handicraft, handloom products, engraved marble artifacts, artistic articles and paintings made by renowned artists, jewellery, garments etc. here.
  • State Urban Livelihood Mission (SULM) – You can buy products made by SHGs here.
  • Directorate of Information & Publicity (DIP) – You can see the slides containing G-20 Summit held in Delhi and video clippings showcasing the historical monuments of Delhi.
  • Social Welfare Department – The department is showcasing products crafted by intellectually disabled persons and you will be happy to buy those products.

This year, Entrepreneurs, MSMEs, Start-ups and exporters based in NCT of Delhi have been facilitated and given opportunity to participate in Delhi Pavilion by setting up their stalls at subsidized rates. Hon’ble Minister (I) described the message behind the theme which is developing Delhi as Entrepreneurs Paradise in near future.

The day started with Financial Literacy session conducted by RBI, followed by electrifying bhangra dance performed by DSEU students, musical instrument played by the teachers from Education department. There will be many more performance in Delhi Pavillion in the coming days in IITF-2023.

He also informed that GNCTD is also organizing a workshop on Entrepreneurship Development followed by a seminar on the “Making Delhi an Entrepreneur’s Paradise” on 17th November, 2023 during at IITF 2023 at the Conference Room, Hall No. 8, in Pragati Maidan. The seminar will be attended by the dignitaries, senior bureaucrats and representatives from the Industries, Associations, Financial Institutions, Technical Institutions, Exporters, MSMEs, Start-ups etc. The discussions held in the seminar would pave the way for redesigning the policy in the State.

GNCTD is also celebrating ‘Delhi Day’ on 21st November 2023 at Amphi Theater, Pragati Maidan where the artists of Sahitaya Kala Parishad and a renowned celebrity would perform to entertain the visitors.
