Action Continues on Day Three of the 2nd Roundglass Grassroots Hockey League for U-16 Boys

Jalandhar, December 25: The second edition of the Roundglass Grassroots Hockey League for U-16 boys started on Sunday at the Surjit Hockey Stadium in Jalandhar. The third day of action saw eight of the 12 participating teams playing an exciting brand of hockey and putting up a total of 25 goals on the scoreboard.

The first match of the day was played between RGS GTB Hockey Academy, Baba Bakala, and RGS Sansarpur Hockey Academy in Pool D, where RGS Sansarpur Hockey Academy defeated RGS GTB Hockey Academy, Baba Bakala, by a margin of 4-2. Captain Manish scored a hattrick and Shiv Kumar found his name on the scoresheet for RGS Sansarpur Hockey Academy. Sukhdev Singh scored a brace for RGS GTB Hockey Academy, Baba Bakal. Gurbajdeep Singh, RGS Sansarpur Hockey Academy was adjudged the player of the match and Olympian Gundeep Kumar, former international hockey player, presented the award.

In Pool A, the second game of the day was played between RGS Baba Pallah Hockey Academy, Butala and RGS Baba Fateh Singh Hockey Academy, Harchowal. Both the teams shared points with a scoreline of 3-3. Akashdeep Singh scored a brace and Manjot Singh scored once for RGS Baba Pallah Hockey Academy, Butala. On the other hand, Apoorav Thakur, Rajwinder Singh, and Manroop Singh scored each for RGS Baba Fateh Singh Hockey Academy, Harchowal. Abejit Singh, RGS Baba Pallah Hockey Academy, Butala was presented the Player of the Match award by Olympian and former international hockey player, Sanjeev Kumar.

The third game of the day was played between RGS Eknoor Hockey Academy, Tehang and RGS Guru Nanak Dev Ji Hockey Academy, Chahal Kalan in Pool B. RGS Eknoor Hockey Academy, Tehang beat RGS Guru Nanak Dev Ji Hockey Academy, Chahal Kalan by a margin of 4-2. Arshdeep Singh scored a brace while Prince Kumar and Gurpreet scored each for RGS Eknoor Hockey Academy, Tehang. Mehakdeep Kumar scored a brace for RGS Guru Nanak Dev Ji Hockey Academy, Chahal Kalan. Arshdeep Singh, RGS Eknoor Hockey Academy, Tehang was presented with the award by Ripudaman Kumar Singh, former international hockey player.

The final encounter of the day saw a close encounter in Pool C as RGS Dhanowali Hockey Academy beat RGS Roop Nagar Hockey Academy by a margin of 4-3. Razzaq Ali scored a brace while Jitesh and Samerdeep found their name on the scoresheet for RGS Dhanowali Hockey Academy. On the other hand, Harshjot scored a brace and Gursewak found his name on the scoresheet for RGS Roop Nagar Hockey Academy. Razzaq Ali, RGS Dhanowali Hockey Academy was presented his Player of the Match award by Balbir Singh Randhawa, former international hockey player.
