IACC, JMI organises Orientation Program for newly admitted students

The India Arab Cultural Centre (IACC), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) organized an Orientation Program for the first-year M.A. students of ‘International Studies Arab Islamic Culture’. The program was held on August 7, 2024, at 11:30 am in the conference room of the Centre.

Prof. Nasir Raza Khan, the Hony. Director of the Centre welcomed new students and introduced them to the faculty members of the centre. He emphasized upon the goals and objectives of the courses running at the Centre, discussed the potential opportunities and career prospects.

He said that the center’s distinctiveness stems from its scholarly character and its capacity to enhance the connections between India and the Arab world through its range of academic papers and subjects. The centre is affiliated with the faculty of Social Sciences of the university and covers topics such as cultural studies, history, and society in India and the Arab world but the main focus is on teaching Arabic. This language proficiency not only enhances students’ understanding of the Arab world but also provides opportunities for them to engage with various Arab organizations and agencies. He emphasized that JMI is committed to maintaining a campus free of ragging, and it is the responsibility of all students to advocate this objective.

Dr. Md. Aftab Ahmad, IACC, JMI, urged students to be regular in their classes to make best use of the facilities the institution offers. The newly admitted students then introduced themselves and stated their goals in life as well as their reasons for choosing the course.
