• SNATCHED BAG WITH DOCUMENTS, MOBILE PHONE AND CASH RS. 5,000/- RECOVERED FROM THEIR POSSESSION.
• ONE MOTORCYCLE MAKE TVS USED IN COMMISSION OF CRIME RECOVERED FROM THEIR POSSESSION.
INCIDENT:
On November 19, 2024, a PCR call was received at PS Burari regarding a snatching incident. The complainant, A, wife of R. Sharma, reported that she and her mother were returning home after withdrawing cash from the bank. At approximately 3:30 PM, when they reached Tomar Colony, Burari, a boy approached them from behind and snatched her handbag. The stolen handbag contained cash worth Rs. 62,000/-, a mobile phone, ATM cards, a credit card, PAN card, Aadhaar card and important documents. The snatcher fled the scene with the help of his accomplice, who was waiting on a motorcycle a short distance away. Accordingly, on the basis of statement of the complainant a case vide FIR No. 724/24 dated 19.11.2024 U/s 304(2)/3(5) BNS was registered at PS Burari and investigation was taken up.
TEAM, INVESTIGATION & OPERATION:
Keeping in view the gravity of the incident of snatching, a dedicated team comprising PSI Yashaswi Khatri, HC Pradeep, HC Rahees, HC Ravinder, HC Jai Prakash and Ct Satender was constituted under the close supervision of Inspr. Jashpal Singh, SHO/PS Burari and guidance of Sh. Nirav Patel, ACP/Sub-Division Timarpur, Delhi.
During the investigation, the team employed technical and manual surveillance. They analyzed CCTV footage, which revealed two individuals fled on a TVS Sports motorcycle after committing snatching. The team tracked the route using CCTV cameras and partially captured the motorcycle’s number plate. After checking 150 CCTV cameras, they successfully captured clear footage of the snatchers’ faces. The registered number of the offending vehicle was obtained, leading to the location of the suspects in Sushant Vihar, Ibrahimpur, Delhi. With the help of secret informers and technical surveillance, the team identified the snatchers as Suresh @ Bittu @ Suraj and Ganesh Solanki @ Raja. The suspects were arrested, and the stolen items, including the bag, mobile phone, cash and documents, were recovered. The TVS motorcycle used in the crime was also seized.
INTERROGATION:
During the interrogation, accused persons Suresh @ Bittu @ Suraj, 32 years, and Ganesh Solanki @ Raja, 28 years confessed to snatching the complainant’s bag and mobile phone on November 19, 2024, near PNB Bank in Tomar Colony, Burari, Delhi. They further revealed that Suresh @ Bittu @ Suraj is illiterate, having studied only up to the 3rd standard, while Ganesh Solanki @ Raja completed his 12th standard. After dropping out of school, they engaged in criminal activities. Prolonged interrogation exposed Suresh @ Bittu @ Suraj’s history as a hard-core criminal with a prior record, including a history sheet at PS Swaroop Nagar, Delhi.
PROFILE OF THE ACCUSED PERSONS:
1. Suresh @ Bittu @ Suraj, R/o Sushant Vihar, Ibrahimpur, Delhi. age 32 years. (Previously he was found involved in 11 cases of Robbery, Snatching, Theft and Arms Act registered in police stations Swaroop Nagar, Shahbad Dairy, Bawana, Narela Industrial Area, Samaypur Badli and Alipur, Delhi. He is also a History Sheet BC of PS Swaroop Nagar, Delhi).
2. Ganesh Solanki @ Raja, R/o Sushant Vihar, Ibrahimpur, Delhi, age 28 years. (Previously he was found involved in 07 cases of Snatching, Theft and Arms act registered in police stations Swaroop Nagar, Ashok Vihar, Mahendra Park and Prashant Vihar, Delhi).
RECOVERY:
1. Cash Rs. 5000/-.
2. One mobile phone make Realme of the complainant.
3. Three (03) ATM Cards.
4. One Credit Card.
5. One motorcycle make TVS used in commission of crime.
6. Other important documents.
