A story of the victim

Dear Sir/Ma’am,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention a distressing incident that took place in Delhi, which highlights the alarming state of law and order in our capital city.

On the evening of February 19, 2025, at approximately 7:30 PM, I parked my car in front of the Gulabi Bagh police station in North Delhi while returning home from office. To my shock, when I returned after about half an hour, I saw that my vehicle had been vandalized. Important items, including my laptop, wallet, crucial documents, two pen drives, and a piece of jewellery, had been stolen after someone broke the window glass of my car.

What is particularly troubling is that this incident occurred right in front of a police station. The criminals, who were captured on CCTV, arrived in an auto-rickshaw and executed the theft in under two minutes. Despite the close proximity to law enforcement, the absence of timely intervention raises serious questions about the effectiveness of the police in ensuring the safety of citizens.

This incident reflects a broader issue faced by the common people of Delhi, who are increasingly feeling vulnerable and unsupported in times of need. While there are ongoing changes and efforts to improve the situation, the reality on the ground suggests that many challenges remain unaddressed.

The details of the FIR filed regarding this incident are as follows:

FIR NO.: 80019386

I believe it is crucial for the media to shed light on such incidents to hold authorities accountable and advocate for better protection for citizens. I am willing to provide the CCTV footage of the incident for your review, which can further substantiate the concerns being raised.

I kindly request your support in covering this story to raise awareness about the pressing issues of law and order in Delhi. Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I look forward to your response.

Regards,

SUKHWINDAR SINGH
